This is a landscape painting that evolved from a long period of color experimentation. Here a journey began where colors weren’t attached to reality anymore. It represents a new beginning for a new visual language. This is a painting based on Hawaii.

The island had an enormous impact on Jose’s work. The lush nature, the great mountains, and the incredible beaches became an endless fountain of inspiration to him. The name “For You” comes from the idea that after crafting this new visual language, this new visual experience, Jose was giving this to the people as a gift. To anyone who sees the image whether as a painting, a print, a photo, or a rug, he did it for you.

Jose F. Jimenez, born in Venezuela in 1986, grew up close to the sea and surrounded by mountains, fostering a deep love for nature. At twenty, he began learning the basics of working with metals, creating jewelry and initiating his artistic journey. After five years in jewelry making, Jose left Venezuela to pursue a university degree in the field. In Toronto, Canada, a life-changing encounter occurred when he volunteered at an art studio and tried painting for the first time. Captivated by the medium, he switched from the Jewelry Program to Drawing and Painting. In 2018, Jose earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Drawing and Painting from OCAD University in Toronto. Now living and working in Florence, Italy, his landscape paintings are inspired by his childhood memories and experiences with nature.
