Chris Kamprad is a visionary self-taught painter based in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin. Her paintings are mental journeys, exploring the realms of imagination through a masterful use of form, color, and structure. Chris’s approach to art balances the deliberate play of omission and excess, striking a harmony that captivates and intrigues.
With a background in make-up art from the Dresden University of Fine Arts, Chris’s artistic journey began in childhood. She has seamlessly integrated her skills as a make-up artist into her painting practice, creating a unique blend of techniques and perspectives. As a proud member of the German Association of Professional Women Artists (GEDOK), she continues to contribute to the vibrant German art scene.
In her own words, Chris describes her artistic process as a transcendence of space and time: “Being in my studio and painting means forgetting space and time, and abandoning myself to the canvas to see what emerges in the moment. I love my colors of the moment and just let myself be surprised. I rarely plan my colors or the way I paint beforehand. I enjoy the moment outside of time and the possibilities of infinite combinations.”
Chris Kamprad invites viewers to join her on these journeys of the mind, offering a glimpse into the boundless potential of spontaneous creation.
