Neimy Kanani is a painter and illustrator currently living in Portugal. She was born and raised in California, Silicon Valley in a Japanese culture household. Neimy’s art is highly influenced by dark fairy tales, classical paintings, and horror game art. She enjoys painting girls in an elegant nostalgic childhood nightmare in extreme detail. Her experience studying abroad in Florence, Italy, helped shape her style today. Her use of horror is influenced by the memory of feeling fear during her childhood, which she learned to appreciate its beauty by turning into an art form.
