This rug is the final piece from the “Rhythm, Texture, Flare” project. In 2020, Jose collaborated with musician Andres Puche in Ontario, where they filmed an artistic video deep in the woods—Andres playing music and Jose painting. Back in Toronto, this intricate painting evolved over nine months, resulting in a vibrant, detailed masterpiece.
The artwork is a visual feast, brimming with colors and details that reveal themselves with each viewing. Jose aimed to capture the natural beauty of the Ontario woods, the vibrant hues of a sunny autumn day, and the atmospheric lights from their video, offering a dynamic and immersive experience.
Jose F. Jimenez
ItalyJose F. Jimenez, born in Venezuela in 1986, grew up close to the sea and surrounded by mountains, fostering a deep love for nature. At twenty, he began learning the basics of working with metals, creating jewelry and initiating his artistic journey.
After five years in jewelry making, Jose left Venezuela to pursue a university degree in the field. In Toronto, Canada, a life-changing encounter occurred when he volunteered at an art studio and tried painting for the first time. Captivated by the medium, he switched from the Jewelry Program to Drawing and Painting. In 2018, Jose earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Drawing and Painting from OCAD University in Toronto. Now living and working in Florence, Italy, his landscape paintings are inspired by his childhood memories and experiences with nature.
