Gray; Identity

Lee.K., the portrait painter from South-Korean, has the particularity of drawing portraits of personalities such as Billie Eilish, Jimin from BTS and so many more. He takes over models who are often known by the general public, in order to mold them as he pleases. The artist makes his compositions appear through a series of strokes and wavy lines that finally compose curves of the face. Lee K’s gesture is frenetic, both rapid and precise, and evokes engraving techniques. The shades of gray, sometimes associated with colorful touches, transcribe the face’s emotions. Behind this approach, Lee K creates his own thinking.
