Principium Causalitatis

The Principium Causalitatis, also called the principle of cause and effect, maintains that for each effect there is one or a set of causes. In the left image, it reads “causa ex intentione” and a cut tree appears with an instrument presumably made by humans with the intention of cutting it. On the right side, from the viewer’s point of view, it is written “causa per accidens” indicating the fact that the tree breaks due to a lightning strike to which intention cannot be attributed, but rather accidentality. In the center of the image, there are several chains, these symbolize the link, the relationship between causes and effects. Seen only subjectively, each link is associated with a greater or lesser weight, that is, the importance of the cause is evaluated depending on where it comes from.
