Ana Maria Edulescu is a professional artist living in Bucharest, Romania, specialized in impasto palette knife highly textured colorful oil paintings. Her style is textural impressionism, abstract figurative, with references to expressionism and fauvism. Coming from a family of painter artists ( her father ) and architects ( her mother and grandfather ), Ana’s main theme is ABSTRACT CITIES. She confessed : ”I am a wanderer, a beauty seeker … traveling the world inspires me. Everywhere I seek for panoramic views of the cities and contemplate the abstract patterns created by the rhythm of the rooftops. In my paintings I translate these ABSTRACT CITY PATTERNS in differently morphed palette knife strokes and marks interacting with each other in various ways and generating the painterly quality of the impasto textures that I love so much.
