Jose Cacho

Jose Cacho was born in Mexico City in 1959. He began painting at a young age, interested mainly in symbolic themes and the dream world. In the first years of his artistic career he dedicated himself to exploring surrealism in painting. His interest in research, dreams, different cultures, worldviews, as well as mythology, have been a great axis in the themes of his work.

Starting in 2016, he began to explore a style that now defines him as his artistic seal.
His recent work is an inquiry into humanity, a Collection that explores the theme of women as the main inspiration. The pictorial nature of the mosaics and textures, relief writing and clean compositions with images loaded with symbolism.

Various techniques such as collage, transfer, charcoal, inks, acrylic media, pastels and resin among others create a sophisticated and enigmatic visual language. He works on different supports such as cotton paper, canvas, metal sheets, acrylic. He has developed a technique called DeepArt which is a hybrid between painting and sculpture.
