Volker Hermes

Volker Hermes is a German artist. He studied painting at the well-known academy of art in Duesseldorf and exhibits his art internationally in museums and galleries. He works in large thematic series that combine cultural history with contemporary aspects. Particularly well-known is his work series: Hidden Portraits. These digital collages deal with the relevance of historical portraits in the context of society and representation. In 2020, he realized a project with Christie’s New York, exhibited at the Castello Visconteo Museum in Pavia, and was featured in many media worldwide.
