Aztec Sun

This piece represents the sun with aztec pointed glyphs representing solar rays. In Mesoamerican culture. Tonatiuh “ Movement of the Sun” is an Aztec sun deity of the daytime sky who rules the cardinal direction of east. According to Aztec Mythology, Tonatiuh was known as “The Fifth Sun”. 

In Aztec religion, the jaguar was the animal spirit of the god Tezcatlipoca. Tezcatlipoca was a primary deity in Aztec culture. He is invisible and omnipotent. He ruled over many things, including the night, the earth, obsidian, warriors, and jaguars. When Tezcatlipoca took the form of a jaguar, he was called Tepeyollotl.

Aztek

Aztek has been drawing and creating art since his earliest days in elementary school. Having been inspired by graffiti, lowrider artwork and Aztec / Mayan indigenous culture, he began to adopt this urban style of art and it soon became his signature. From painting on the streets to trains, Aztek began receiving recognition from fellow artists and admirers. He has traveled the world tattooing and is now settled in Sacramento and Los Angeles, California where he focuses on aztec/Mayan - indigenous style tattoos.
