Birds of Paradise

This piece was painted using alcohol inks mixed with pure alcohol on Japanese yupo paper. Alcohol inks are an unpredictable medium and Stacey knew they would help capture the wildness of the rainforest when she was painting. Bright bold beautiful colors that are the embodiment of the Amazon. She wanted to capture the spirit of life and liveliness that nature offers. Light streaming through the trees and exotic plants and winged birds. She never paints with a rigid plan. She rather takes a loose idea and lets the concepts reveal themselves through the energy and flow of the mediums she uses. She enjoyed the journey this piece took me on and how the energy of it filled me with awe and hope, reflecting on the resilience and perfect balance that the natural world does so well.
