Dream Weft and Birds
Two illustrations were created especially for the Art in Rug project, in them Lucas started from the idea of the rug, specifically the idea about the weft and the warp. He designed a new weft: organic and without an exact pattern, but which repeats itself and at the same time occupies and fills the space, this botanical plot appears as birds fly among the foliage, like a small setting for the ground and sky to mix, so that the rug can be a mirror of a dreamed sky for a night or an afternoon when birds fly through the garden.
Lucas Lopes
BrazilLucas Lopes is a Brazilian artist with a degree in visual arts, currently living between Buenos Aires and São Paulo, in his career, in addition to authorial production with watercolor paintings, natural and acrylic paints, he also creates sculpture, murals, installations and interventions for galleries, libraries and cultural centers.
As an illustrator, in addition to books and magazines, he has illustrated musical albums, sets, and animations for circus and theater. The center of his research and artistic production is the dialogues that the image can establish with the world, when crossed by the possible fields of poetry and metaphor, questioning reality and creating openings to other realities, internal and external.
