What is Art in Rug?
Art in Rug is a self-explanatory name. We create rugs, with excellent craftsmanship and artistic value.

What are we planning to do?
We are the Innovative Art House.
We make fine art rugs a reality. We want to provide artists with a new medium and bring their art to a whole other level.

Is there a contract?
Yes, there is. There would be no legal partnership without it.

Who is behind this company?
A group of art and Persian rug enthusiasts, who have been active in the rug and flooring fields for many years and are packed with the experience that goes back for centuries. After many years of work, we reached a decision to start an art house and create exclusive artistic rugs.

How do we decide on the design?
We ask for a “selection of five” in order to start the collaboration process. This means you would suggest five works, then we will select three of them to be the final designs.

How do we price the final artwork? How much does each party benefit?
When the artworks are selected, we price them. We will gladly send the artist’s share to him/her after a sale has been made. To give you an estimate of a hypothetical final price, a 1.2 m x 2 m rug would go around 1000 dollars.

What could be the size of the rug?
There will be three size options for each design, but the exact figures will be determined by our art department according to the artwork ratio.

How should be the files I send you?
It highly depends on the rug size. The best thing to do is to send us the picture. Then we’ll let you know if it works for the size you have chosen.
Please bear in mind that there are different depending factors here, so sending the file to us for examination is the better option.

Can I use an existing work?
We use only the original work you provide and have the copyrights to. The work must not be implemented on a rug before. We also demand a commitment from you to never share the design we select for the rug, with another rug maker.

Can I use the scan of a sold painting?
It depends. You can sell your work of art and not transfer the copyright. In some cases, both the work and the copyright have been transferred, in some cases, only the artwork is sold and the copyright remains with the creator.
If you have sold a painting but did not transfer the copyright to the buyer, you, as the creator, are the original owner of the copyright. This means that we could use that as a rug design.
You are also encouraged to create something specifically for this purpose.

How is the quality of the rug?
The final creation would be an exceptional premium rug, with your work implemented on it. A fine rug has around 360,000 to 500,000 knots per square meter, but our rugs have around 3,600,000 knots per square meter.

What is the process of transferring a work of art to a rug?
This is a unique and very difficult thing to do. It’s our trade secret and innovation, we try our best to make the highest quality rugs possible.

How can I be sure that there will be only one piece of rug made?
It’s stated in the contract, we are committed to creating only one rug per each design we agree on. The uniqueness of each rug is very important to us, we want each of our rugs to be unique pieces of art.
