He’s often asked why he creates his kind of art and where he gets his ideas. The most straightforward answer to the first part is that he loves what he does. He paints because He enjoys seeing his imagination come to life! When he makes art, he finds a deep state of peaceful concentration. Creating art can be like a port in a storm for him. In the beginning, his art was purgative. He expressed his personal feelings with very little objectivity or self-censorship. His work has grown and matured over the years. However, it is still a harbor that he shapes with his imagination. His work is still a way to illustrate his feelings, but it’s tempered by his wish to create order and beauty. His art is a conveyance to take him to another world. He’s honored to share that world and overjoyed that others can relate to it. The second part of the question is much more challenging to answer. Where does he get his ideas? He’s simply trying to illustrate those ideas. He can’t explain where they come from. They are just there, constantly evolving under an infinitely complex number of influences.
