I Thought You Were Sleeping

“The noise and the halftone have done it to me. These textures and poppy colors define my style. I’m attracted to the non-perfect, so I never work for too long on one piece, but always create and publish directly.
As a trained architect, however, I always want to create something accurate and stable in contrast – so it remains a noise”, Die Doing says about his artwork.

Die Doing (Carsten Gueth)

Germany
Die Doing (Carsten Gueth) studied architecture and urban planning in Stuttgart. He was already more concerned with artistic and graphic positions on architecture in the broadest sense during his studies. His designed magazines, books and short films were shown in various exhibitions during this time. Immediately after graduation, he switched completely to the graphic design field and has been working permanently and freelance for various design agencies for the last 15 years, creating campaigns mostly for cultural institutions such as museums. In the last years he also started his artistic work, in which he lives out his love for halftone textures and colors. His work focuses on the contrast between pop-colored and halftone graphics that seem rather out of time. A mixture of emotion and technique. The textures form a gradient at a distance, really break upon closer inspection, and come to life on large format prints.
