Takeshi Yokoshima

Japan
Born in 1963, Takeshi graduated from Musashino Art Junior College. His work has been showcased in numerous group exhibitions, including the 90 Jiyu Art Association Exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and the Julian Espinal Art Project "Genesis Collective Exhibition" in New Jersey. He has also held solo exhibitions at Gallery Natsuka in Tokyo Ginza and Morris Gallery in Tokyo Ginza from 1993 to 1996. Influenced by artists such as Michelangelo and Natsuyuki Nakanishi, Takeshi’s creative process is driven by the search for unexpected beauty. He likens his approach to discarding plans and intentions, akin to undressing before a shower, in pursuit of something more valuable. This process is an uncertain journey, often yielding surprising results that reveal the existence of an unseen, mystical element in the world. For Takeshi, his role is to select the most valuable works from his creations, embracing the thrill of discovering the unknown.
