La Euforia Del Color
During a visit to the Galleria Continua in San Gimignano, Italy, José had the chance to experience the works of the renowned Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez. Known for his scientific approach to color and as a pioneer of kinetic art, Cruz-Diez’s exhibition left a profound impact on José.
Inspired by Cruz-Diez’s methodical precision, José created a piece that contrasts Cruz-Diez’s hidden hand technique by making his own hand visible, adding a more human and natural touch. This decision also complements the central pine tree in José’s drawing, reminiscent of the hills and pine trees surrounding San Gimignano, where the exhibition took place.
Jose F. Jimenez
ItalyJose F. Jimenez, born in Venezuela in 1986, grew up close to the sea and surrounded by mountains, fostering a deep love for nature. At twenty, he began learning the basics of working with metals, creating jewelry and initiating his artistic journey.
After five years in jewelry making, Jose left Venezuela to pursue a university degree in the field. In Toronto, Canada, a life-changing encounter occurred when he volunteered at an art studio and tried painting for the first time. Captivated by the medium, he switched from the Jewelry Program to Drawing and Painting. In 2018, Jose earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Drawing and Painting from OCAD University in Toronto. Now living and working in Florence, Italy, his landscape paintings are inspired by his childhood memories and experiences with nature.
