Orange Ebby

Orange Ebby is the first piece in a body of work exploring the psychological concept of identity by visualizing the stories uncovered in the dissonance between personal and social identity. The palette of this color field painting is dominated by the secondary hue orange. Orange is a combination of red and yellow. Red is a visual stimulant, and yellow is responsible for happiness. Combining these two primaries generates a psychologically active color that increases our sense of competition, mental positivity, and evokes courage. Contrasted by blue, which is associated with reliability and trust, this palette represents the confidence, boldness, and uniqueness exuded by the subject.
