The Battle

Iris Lys is a half-Finnish-half-French tattooist living in the UK. Her work is very bold and colorful and best known for her cat designs… She used to refer to herself as “Cattooer”. She comes from a family of artists and has had the chance to be taught to appreciate art from a very young age. Her parents were giving her and her siblings pencil, paper and paint rather than letting them watch TV. Because of that, she became a very manual and craft-oriented person. She started her journey in tattooing 19 years ago and has been working as a professional for almost 18 years. She is pretty much self-taught as none of the tattooists she has worked with were into traditional tattooing, which made it hard back in the day to learn the basics of the style. Traveling in many countries around the world, working at conventions, guesting abroad, and working with many different tattooers helped her find her own style and grow up as an artist.
