The Things We Think We Are Hiding
This piece is part of Anne Bedrick’s Redactions series, in which she explores the dichotomy between what we reveal and what we keep hidden about ourselves. As Anne delved deeper into the concept of secrets, she envisioned these transparent stripes as symbols of the things we believe we are concealing, yet are visible to everyone.
Anne Bedrick finds inspiration in the vibrant landscapes she explores on her weekly hikes. A self-taught painter, Anne creates large-scale, colorful abstract compositions that have been exhibited in solo and group shows across the country and are collected internationally. She is represented by Pryor Fine Art in Atlanta.
Anne is deeply involved in the local art scene as a co-founder of Desert Open Studios and the founder of the monthly art walk in the Perez Art District. Her studio, Anne Bedrick Fine Art, was voted one of the top three galleries in the Coachella Valley by Palm Springs Life in 2020. She enjoys meeting art enthusiasts and helping collectors find pieces that resonate with them.
